Converse

I see them everywhere: Converse shoes.
When I was a teenager I had them in all diferent colors and sizes. I remember me being so happy after buying my first flower(!) All Stars with my mom. :)
I'm still doubting which I would buy for this summer: the basic white ones or something more girlish?

Maxi

COS pants
Miu Miu Jacket
D. C O Copenhagen boots

Jil Sander SS11

Spotted: the summer of 2011 will all be about maxi trousers and skirts. If there's one item you want to have in your closed for this season, choose maxi.
We've already seen this trend in the new Dries van Noten collection but Jil Sander does it even better.
Her ready to wear SS11 collection has everything: colours, basics, stylish fabrics.
Although my pants are not as coulourful as Jils, I like to have my basics right; a wide ochre Cos pants in combination with a simple jacket got me through my second day as an intern.

Ps: Amsterdams International Fashion Week is starting today, wish I could have been there to see the Spijkers and Spijkers show!

Girls can dream

Many of the most famous belgian designers find their roots here in Antwerp: Dries van Noten, Bruno Pieters, Ann de Meulemeester and many many more.
Everyday when I walk down the streets I'm blown away by the most timeless clothes.
Unfortunately my life as a student doesn't allow me to buy those designs.
But we can dream, can't we?

Minimalism

How much I love the scandinavian minimalistic style. They have it everywhere: fashion, houses, state of mind.
As you can see the new Fillipa K. collection looks very promising.
One of my dreams is living in the North, at least for a while, and could I have your library, Karl Lagerfeld?

Paper cuts

The sun, a good book and a nice coctail.
What could a girl wish for more?
As a german literature student Juli Zeh is my alltime favourite.
Don't try to relax with her books, because they aren't relaxing at all :).
With all my books hanging around in the appartement I could really do with a library like Jeanne Lanvins.

Rue Blanche

Rue Blanche Lente/Zomer10
Rue Blanche Lente/Zomer10
Rue Blanche Herfst/Winter10

Rue Blanche is definitely one of my favourite brands of the past seasons.
The simplicity, beautifull fabrics and the pure designs are truly amazing.
Marie Chantal Regout has to be a divine woman :).

Here I am!

After years spent on scrapbooks and style collages, I needed a new space for myself.
The name Ethnic Spring simply because I'm inspired by the ethnic minorities in Asia and spring is my favourite season of the year. The components of this blog are just like me: fashion, style, culture, travel and literature. I hope you'll enjoy it!
